Beirut does not have big green parks as do other major cities and capitals in the world. Trips and excursions to Nature Reserves can be planned, and are never far away from the capital. Nature excursions unveil the country’s Natural Heritage of Fauna and Flora. A big bunch of recommended useful websites and equipped guides and a list of tour organizers are included below.

Hiking and Trekking

Most popular tours take place in the mountains, valleys or seeking old mills by the riversides of the hidden valleys. They offer a great opportunity to be close to nature and admire its heavenly details.

Bird Watching

Lebanon is a corridor for migrating birds and home for the several resident species. Bird watching can be arranged at the nature reserves, wetlands or with tour operators. Some nature conservation organizations have supported local communities through the development of local host lodgings and B&B facilities. Eco tour operators can organize bird watching trips to several locations all over Lebanon as well.

Nature Reserve

Lebanon is the home of 8 Nature Reserves and the pathway to birds’ migration route. This plays a major role in placing Lebanon on the biodiversity map. Lebanon’s flag with its green cedar in the middle symbolizes this important feature of the country.
