North Lebanon's main feature lies in its notable number of medieval castles, churches and monasteries scattered all across its landscape. Many of these crusader structures have remained to this day and are in use by the local communities.

Lebanon is the home of the Phoenicians, the fathers of the alphabet. Some universities and institutions offer educational programs to teach Arabic for foreigners or Diasporas in an authentic cultural context. Those programs offer instructional as well as interactive activities to promote the Arabic language in its environment.
