North Lebanon's main feature lies in its notable number of medieval castles, churches and monasteries scattered all across its landscape. Many of these crusader structures have remained to this day and are in use by the local communities.

The Lebanese “Love for Life” is reflected in their festivals. Even the smallest village sets aside a time for celebration, whether it is to celebrate the arrival of summer, spring, or winter. Al Bustan, is the major winter festival in Lebanon. A balmy summer evening under a magnificent starry sky is the perfect setting for these occasions The Lebanese summer is par excellence “The Festival Season”. Of the major international music festivals: Baalbeck, the most prestigious festival in the Middle East, takes place in the famous archeological site, Byblos, by the sea side in the old fortress, and Tyre in the old Roman hippodrome.
