North Lebanon's main feature lies in its notable number of medieval castles, churches and monasteries scattered all across its landscape. Many of these crusader structures have remained to this day and are in use by the local communities.

SocialTwist Tell-a-Friend     Skiing - THEMES

Lebanon is one of the few winter sports destinations in the Middle East where you can ski and enjoy snow-related activities. Skiing in Lebanon is popular because most ski resorts are within 1 to 2 hours drive from major cities, and the ski season begins in December and stretches until early April. All ski resorts include several accommodation options like hotels and self-catering chalets.

There are six well equipped ski resorts: The cedars (2,300m) in North Lebanon, Ouyoun Es-Siman Kfardebian (1,890m), Laqlouq (1,740m), Faqra (1,750m), Qanat Bakiche (1,990m) and Zaarour (1,990m) in Mount Lebanon.

Cross-county skiing and snowshoeing are less popular but can also be practiced at the higher altitudes. Gear and clothes can be rented at the resorts in one of several sports shops available.
